About the EB Research Partnership (EBRP)

The EB Research Partnership (EBRP) is a global nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by a group of dedicated parents along with Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder and his wife Jill Vedder. EBRP is committed to funding research to treat and cure Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB)—a rare and life-threatening genetic skin disorder. Patients with EB have extremely fragile skin that blisters or tears from even minor friction, earning them the nickname “butterfly children.”

Since its founding, EBRP has raised over $60 million and funded more than 140 research projects, increasing the number of EB-related clinical trials from just 2 to over 40, including two FDA-approved therapies. EBRP utilizes an innovative venture philanthropy model, applying business-driven investment strategies to philanthropy in order to accelerate research and reinvest successful returns into future promising projects.
